This way to adventure!

Hi there!

I’m Emily. I’m a writer living an unexpected expat life fueled by coffee and adventure. Home is where my art is.

The Missing Season.

The Missing Season.

It’s taken me a while to get back in the writing saddle after I evicted the elephant from my skull.

{See related post: Eviction notice.}

But I’m getting there again.

With lots of support from Joe, my mom, and Sondra Primeaux (creative coach extraordinaire), I worked through the somewhat painful but completely cathartic process of writing “The Missing Season.” It’s a 1,600 word essay about how my (estranged) father feels both closer and further away than ever now that I’m here in Belgium.

I could tell you more about it, but I’d rather the words do the real talking. You can catch “The Missing Season” over on Medium. (Click here.)

If you happen to like it, I’d love a clap (just click the hand clapping icon at the bottom of the piece). And if you really like it, I’d be thrilled if you’d share it with somebody who might enjoy it too.
